Liwonde National Park Information
By its good environment and fertile game, Liwonde National Park is generally regarded as the best game reserve in Malawi. It covers 550 km ² (212 sq miles) of Mopane forests and savannah in the floodplain of the Shire River and Lake Malombe in the south of the country. Wildlife also large herds of elephants, hippos, crocodiles, antelopes, zebras, warthogs, bush back, and sable. In addition, visitors can also see lions and leopards. The river levels are home to many bird species. Plants and trees in the Liwonde National Park, the Baobab, a large indigenous African tree with a pumpkin-like fruit with a delicious mush. Despite the incredible sigths, the park is still relatively quiet and uncommercialised.
