Near the beach
The Maldivian capital Malé is the islands' only real attraction as such. Home to one third of the population of Malé is a country of Asia the most densely populated cities. As the only island in the Maldives with traffic, a commercial center and no natural beaches, Malé is certainly an interesting anomaly in this part of the world. A highlight for tourists is the Ulu Mosque, while the city's markets overflow with local color.

Retail Therapy
For many tourists, the hotel gift shop and airport shops are the only outlets that they will encounter in quiet islands. More serious retail therapy can be found in Malé, where paint ornaments and other handicrafts to buy in addition to the everyday things like clothes and food. Steer clear of anything from shells or coral, because it is against the law to make it from the Maldives.
A night on the town
Holiday in the Maldives is about peace and tranquility so that you do not stumble over much raucous nightlife on the islands. Resort hotels do sell alcohol and alcoholic beverages (sale is restricted to the Maldives) and usually offer a range of options including drinking pool bars, beach bars, cafes and cocktail lounges. In some resorts the entertainment industry May even stretch to live music, karaoke or a disco.
Eat
As you might expect in a country of 1190 islands, dining tends only to the resort hotels. Most hotels have two or three restaurants with the election of lavish buffets to fine dining establishments specializing in local seafood. Cafes and bars also sell snacks pool, where tourists can be a sandwich, pizza or burgers.
Getting around
With the exception of Malé, where taxis are the best way for tourists to around the Maldives islands, traffic-free, which means that the only way around is on foot or by golf buggy. Seaplanes guests transfer between the airport and its resorts, with boat rides and the tourists on the island hop.
Exploring beyond
Deep-sea fishing, diving and snorkeling excursions, and island-hopping tours are by most resorts. Organized visits to Malé and other inhabited islands are also popular with holidaymakers.

Make a Beeline for one of the many spas, where soothing facial treatments, deep tissue massage and treatment of body wraps are guaranteed to ease away any remaining tensions arising from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, which now considers one million miles away.
